About Clayton C

After a seven-year hiatus, reggae artist Clayton C is making a powerful return proving that true passion never fades. Like many artists pulled away by life’s demands, Clayton’s journey ultimately led him back to where his heart has always belonged: the music.

His latest single, "Baby Don't Cry" officially marks this new chapter, signaling not just a comeback, but a renewed commitment to his craft. With new music on the way and live performances slated for 2026, Clayton C is re-emerging with focus, energy, and no intention of slowing down.

Born and raised in Portland, Jamaica, Clayton C’s musical roots run deep. He first honed his skills on a small local sound system known as Symphonics, where his natural passion and smooth, distinctive vocal delivery quickly set him apart. Encouraged by those around him to take his talent beyond local circles, Clayton laid the foundation for a career defined by authenticity and conscious expression.

Now based in Toronto, Clayton C is widely recognized as one of the city’s standout reggae vocalists. A respected and familiar presence within the Toronto reggae fraternity, his performance history includes major events such as the Durham Caribbean Festival (twice) and Jamaica Day Celebration. He has shared the stage with reggae legends including Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, Errol Dunkley, and Leroy Sibbles, among others.

Earlier in his career, Clayton C made an international impact with standout tracks like "On Fire," "Love Like ABC," "Call Me," and "I Feel So Free." These songs received airplay across the UK, Amsterdam, and Jamaica, earning him industry recognition and award nominations, including Best New Artist at the Reggae Music Achievement Awards and Best Upcoming Artist and Best Male Artist at the Canadian Reggae Music Awards.

Known for his smooth yet powerful voice and dedication to clean, conscious reggae music, Clayton C’s return feels both timely and necessary. His time away from the spotlight served as a musical sabbatical that allowed him to rediscover himself, refine his songwriting, and strengthen his artistic vision.

With new, powerful material already in the works, Clayton C is stepping back into the scene with renewed purpose. For longtime supporters and new listeners alike, one thing is clear: Clayton C’s voice is back and reggae is better for it.
